Christmas is the season when families gather to watch perennial TV favorites like “A Miracle on 34th Street” and “It’s a Wonderful Life”. But right here at Ambucare, in Kingston and Montego Bay Jamaica, real life miracles do happen during the course of our duties at any given time. Let our EMT Specialist Peter Wynter tell you about it in his own words as he related it to the Sunday Gleaner:
One of his more interesting experiences, Wynter said was “responding to a call, a person with medical experience pronounced a lady dead and cancelled the ambulance. But because I was already nearby I asked my supervisors if I could go anyway. When we got there, the patient was unresponsive but we opened her airway,
gave her oxygen, started chest compression, conducted CPR and, en route to the hospital, the person started breathing and talking.”
“We have experienced more than one of those cases,” Wynter said. It’s a miracle indeed!
